Fire Marshal Training – Half Day

The half day fire marshal training course qualifies the learner as a fire marshal and meets obligations under the Regulatory Reform Order 2005.

This course gives an appointed person (Fire Marshal / Warden) a 3 year certification as a qualified fire marshal / warden where a risk assessment or regulations have identified the need for a fire marshal to be appointed in the workplace.

 

Course content:

This 4 hour fire warden course includes course materials, expert tutoring and practical exercises to give learners in-depth training in the following fire marshal knowledge:

  • Aims of fire safety
  • Fire prevention
  • Principles of combustion
  • Methods of evacuation
  • Human behaviour in fire
  • Actions upon discovering a fire
  • Workplace fires
  • Means of escape
  • Fire growth and spread
  • Using fire extinguishers
  • The role of the fire marshal
  • Practical fire fighting

 

Upon successful completion of the fire marshal training course, each delegate will receive a qualified fire marshal certificate which is valid for 3 years.

Assessment:
Throughout the course  there is a constant assessment by the instructor who will ask questions about  what he has covered in the course, some may be theoretical or some may be  practical. At the end of the course there is a 20 question multiple choice  paper to be completed by all delegates A pass mark of 72% is set for all  delegates. Once these papers are marked and delegates passed then they will  proceed to a 10 minute practical assessment.

Certificate:
All delegates that succeed with the course will  receive an A4 certificate of attendance that will be valid for 3 years.
